ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s ten-wicket star, Yasir Shah Tuesday said that he hadit in his mind that he will take ten wickets in a Test inning, but he didnot know that he will do it on the same day.
“When I left the hotel in the morning, I had it in my mind that I will taketen wickets, but did not know that I will do it in a single day,” he saidwhile talking to private news channel.
Yasir Shah ran riot against the Kiwis in the second Test as he took eightwickets for 41 runs in the first inning followed by two wickets in thesecond inning on the same day, conceding 65 runs.
He became the first Pakistani to take ten wickets in a single day, while hebecame the only second leg-spinner after Anil Kumble, who achieved the featin 1999 against Pakistan.
Shah is optimistic to get the Blackcaps out on the fourth day of the Testand level the three-match Test series by 1-1.
“We have a plan to bowl in the right channel on the fourth day and wrap upthe Test,” he said. “The pitch is helpful, there is spin and bounce, so weare hopeful to win the game.”
Pakistan scored 418/5d in the first inning and restricted the visitors tojust 90 runs. Following on, New Zealand are 132/2, trailing by 197 runs.
