New developments reported in LHC over Khadija Shah arrest case

In response to an unsatisfactory report submitted by the Lahore City PoliceOfficer (CCPO) in the Khadija Shah case, the Lahore High Court (LHC) hascalled for the personal appearance of the Punjab IGP by November 3.

Khadija Shah, who was detained in connection with May 9 protests relatedto social media posts supporting PTI, has filed a plea seeking contemptproceedings against police officials for not disclosing two FIRs whenarrested in a third case.

Despite obtaining bail for the cases involving arson in Askari Tower andvandalism of the Corps Commander’s House, she was arrested for allegedlyinciting arson at Rahat Bakery.

During the hearing, the CCPO failed to satisfy the court, leading to thecourt summoning the IGP for the next hearing on November 3.
