Gill scored a fluent 74 runs off 63 balls in the first ODI againstAustralia on Friday and played a brilliant 104-run innings from 97 balls inthe second ODI on Sunday.
After the most recent ICC rankings update, Gill now holds the secondposition with 847 points, while Babar Azam maintains the top position with857 points.
In the 2023 Asia Cup, Gill also showcased his batting skills and emergedas the highest run-scorer in the tournament, accumulating an impressive 302runs in six innings with an average of 75.50.
In 2023, Gill has been dominant in the ODI format, leading the battingcharts with a total of 1221 runs in 20 innings. In comparison, the Pakistanskipper, during the same year, has scored 745 runs in 15 innings.
