China, while responding to US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken’sstatement in which he asked Pakistan to pursue China for Loan deferment,said Tuesday that the United States should focus on helping Pakistan inreal means instead of resorting to uncalled-for criticism of Pak-Chinacooperation.
Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Wang Wenbin said China will continueto do utmost efforts to help rebuild the homes of Pakistan flood affectedpeople.
“Since floods hit, as Pakistan’s friend and brother in time of need, Chinahas rushed to Pakistan’s aid.”
The Chinese government has provided RMB 400 million worth of humanitarianassistance while China’s civil society has also lent a helping hand, hesaid during his regular briefing held at the International Press Center(IPC).
The spokesperson remarked that China and Pakistan have had fruitfuleconomic and financial cooperation. The Pakistani people know it best.
He said that instead of passing unwarranted criticism againstChina-Pakistan cooperation, something real and beneficial should be donefor the people of Pakistan.
Responding to a question about a joint statement delivered by Pakistan onbehalf of nearly 70 countries at the 51st session of the Human RightsCouncil, expressing support for China’s position on issues related toXinjiang, Hong Kong and Tibet, he said that some countries used so-calledhuman rights issue against China but have failed time and again.
“The overwhelming majority of the international community have long beenclear-eyed about this,” he added.
He said that China has an unwavering resolve to uphold nationalsovereignty, security and development interests and the criticism would notstop its journey towards development and progress.
