Pakistan is deeply concerned on the deteriorating security situation inNagorno-Karabakh region.
Spokesperson of the Foreign Office Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri said that theintensive shelling by Armenian forces over the weekend on civilianpopulations of Azerbaijani villages of Terter, Aghdam, Fizuli and Jabrayilregion is reprehensible and most unfortunate. He said this could compromisepeace and security of the entire region. Armenia must stop its militaryaction to avoid further escalation.
The spokesperson said that Pakistan stands with the brotherly nation ofAzerbaijan and supports its right of self-defence. He said we supportAzerbaijan’s position on Nagorno-Karabakh, which is in line with theseveral unanimously adopted UN Security Council resolutions.
