ADB approves 800 million to enhance regional connectivity in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, (APP): Asian Development Bank has approved US$ 800 million dollar loan to help enhance regional connectivity and trade in Pakistan.

According to Radio Pakistan, the investment program would expand Pakistan’s regional connectivity links while helping to improve road traffic efficiency.

Under the program, road networks in Sindh, Punjab, and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be rehabilitated and upgraded with the Bank’s first tranche of about 180 million dollars this year.

Bank’s Director Transport and Communication Division Dong-Soo Pyo said that Pakistan’s unique geographic location provided a potential and opportunity for the country to become a regional transport and trade hub.
