WASHINGTON – CodePink, a Washington based, women-led internationally activepeace and social justice organization, has called on the United Nations totake immediate action against India’s blockade of Kashmir to avoid nuclearcatastrophe in the region.
In a letter addressed to the 15-member Council, the organization urged UNto help Kashmiris finally obtain self-determination after seven decades ofIndian occupation.
CodePink said this conflict is one of the most dangerous flashpoints in theworld and we must do everything we can to avoid the risk of escalationbetween the nuclear-armed Indian and Pakistani forces
It said the UN Security Council must take immediate action to protectKashmir from this vicious attack and for safety of the world population ina nuclearized world.
