Nawaz Sharif was transported to the court from Adiala jail amid tightsecurity.
The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Monday extended the deadline, to concluderemaining graft cases against Sharifs, for six more weeks.
Accountability court II Judge Arshad Malik had approached the apex courtfor an extension in the deadline to wrap up Flagship and Al-Aziziareferences against Nawaz Sharif and his family.
Nawaz Sharif was arrested on July 13 along with his daughter Maryam NawazSharif when the duo returned to the country from London. The arrest was incompliance with July 6 court order, convicting them in the Avenfieldproperties reference.
An accountability court, in Avenfield corruption reference, awarded 10years prison term to the PML-N supreme leader, while his daughter Maryamand her spouse Capt. Safdar were handed seven years’ and one year’s prisonterm, respectively.
