LAHORE – Lahore High Court today heard the case filed for the release ofSharif family from the NAB conviction.

LHC has directed NAB to file its response by Wednesday in a petitionseeking revocation of the punishment awarded to former Prime Minister NawazSharif and other family members in the Avenfield reference.

The three-judge full bench comprises Justice Shahid Waheed as its head,Justices Atir Mehmood and Shahid Jameel Khan.

The court took strong exception to the absence of NAB’s counsel in thecourt and ordered the bureau’s prosecutor to appear before it at the nexthearing and submit a reply on behalf of NAB.

The bench remarked that NAB is being given the final chance to submit itsreply.

The bech also announced that the court would hear the petition on aday-to-day basis.
