Pakistani top pacer Mohammad Amir announces retirement

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s ace fast bowler Mohammad Amir has decided to quitTest cricket, Pakistan Cricket Board announce via a press release on Friday.

However, Amir, who has represented Pakistan in 36 Test matches, willcontinue to play for Pakistan in coloured kit.

“It has been an honour to represent Pakistan in the pinnacle andtraditional format of the game. I, however, have decided to move away fromthe longer version so I can concentrate on white ball cricket,” said Amir.

The 27-year old pacer made his international debut for Pakistan during theWorld T20, his impressive performance helped him earn a Test call againstSri Lanka in the same year.

Mohammad Amir wants to concentrate on limited-over cricket and this is thereason why he has opted to hang his boots in the longest format of the game.
