Supreme Court to hear Sheikh Rashid s plea on August 1

ISLAMABAD – The Supreme Court will hear AML chief Sheikh Rasheed’s pleaagainst polls delay in NA-60 on August 1.

Chief Justice Saqib Nisar has formed a three-member bench to hear the plea.

Earlier on Monday, the Lahore High Court had rejected a petition of AwamiMuslim League president Sheikh Rashid Ahmed against the postponement ofelection in NA-60.

Justice Mujahid Mustaqeem of the LHC Rawalpindi bench upheld the ElectionCommission of Pakistan’s decision of postponing the election after PakistanMuslim League-N candidate Hanif Abbasi was sentenced to life imprisonmentby the Control of Narcotics Substances (CNS) court in the ephedrine case onJuly 21.
