Is Chairman NAB Justice (R) Javaid Iqbal resigning?

LAHORE – Chairman of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Justice(rtd) Javed Iqbal, wanted to tendered resignation but federal governmenthad barred him from doing so, revealed renowned anchorperson and journalistKhalid Qayyum in News Center.

Qayyum revealed that verdict of the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SC) barsacting chairman of the NAB from signing the references.

The analyst observed that only four interim-references have been filedagainst the co-chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Asif AliZardari.

“The whole process of accountability will come to standstill”, noted Qayyumwhile adding that stances of both ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) andPakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) are ambiguous.

Qayyum apprised attendants that majority of the members of the PML-N arefacing graft charges.

The host, Salman Hassan, revealed that a leader of PPP had told him that ifJustice (rtd) Javed Iqbal relinquishes, then new chairman of premieranti-graft watchdog will not be appointed in the near future.
