A new four party political alliance in making in Punjab

LAHORE: The four-party alliance, led by the PML-Q, has decided to launchefforts to bring all like-minded parties on a platform across the countryto contest the general election.

A meeting of PML-Q, Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT), Sunni Ittehad Council(SIC) and Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) was held here on Thursday whichwas presided over by Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain. SIC chief Sahibzada HamidRaza, PAT secretary general Khurrum Nawaz Gandapur and MWM’s Nasir AbbasSheerazi represented their parties.

The meeting decided that all the like-minded and patriotic forces would bebrought together on one platform to contest the election.

“For this purposes, contacts in all the four provinces will be increasedand a mass contact campaign will be launched,” Shujaat said. He said thecaretaker prime minister and chief ministers should be neutral.

“It is the responsibility of the election commission to ensure holding offair, transparent and impartial election so that its results are acceptableto all parties. Only a transparent election can pull the country out ofcrises,” he added.
