ISLAMABAD – Legendary Pakistani cricketer Shahid Afridi setup a charitabletrust with the sole objective of providing basic health and educationalfacilities for the people and now the philanthropist is getting some helpfrom Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
The Shahid Afridi Foundation was established in March 2014 with theobjective of devotedly providing Pakistanis with better health care andeducational services. The non-profit organization is a registered under the501 c (3) in the United States of America.
Recently, an annual fundraiser by Islamic Relief Canada was arranged inVancouver, Canada and the prime minister of the North American country,Trudeau, requested his nation to contribute in the Shahid Afridi Foundationfor helping it make a hospital in Pakistan.
The cricketer thanked Trudeau through social media post saying, “Thank youJustin Trudeau for supporting the vision of Shahid Afridi Foundation andfor your hospitality. Canada is a nation of great people. A special thanksto Islamic Relief Canada, the Pakistani and Indian community of Vancouverfor your generous contribution for Kohat Hospital, as together we all are#HopeNotOut.”
