ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s advanced anti-drone defence systems successfully thwarted a coordinated attempt by Afghan Taliban-backed militants to launch small drone attacks on the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa districts of Abbottabad, Swabi, and Nowshera on Friday.
The failed strikes, attributed to factions linked to the Afghan Taliban regime and described by officials as involving the Fitna al-Khawarij group often associated with Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan elements, targeted both civilian and potential military sites in these areas.
Information Minister Attaullah Tarar confirmed the incident through official channels, stating that the incoming drones were promptly detected and neutralised by Pakistan’s state-of-the-art anti-drone technologies.
