ISLAMABAD – Pakistani jets reportedly had an Indian Army Brigadeheadquarter and an oil depot as their targets. The jets, however, didn’taccomplish their mission and dropped bombs near it, in a signal to India.
PAF did not want to target the military headquarters so as not to escalatethe matter.
Indian radar systems, including airborne AWACS (Airborne Warning andControl System) as well as ground systems, noticed simultaneous activity atdifferent Pakistani air bases in Rawalpindi, Sargodha and Islamabad, Indianmedia has reported.
A number of Pakistani fighter jets took off simultaneously at 0950hrs andbegan gathering over northern Pakistan to attack Indian targets in Jammuand Kashmir.
Indian Air Force’s Air Defence Network was activated immediately and MiG-21and Sukhoi-30 fighter jets were scrambled from Awantipora and Srinagar asthe intrusion from Pakistan Air Force occurred in the Naushera sector.
It is reported that three PAF jets entered Indian airspace and wereconfronted by IAF’s jets.
It is reported that the PAF jets were targetting an Indian Army Brigadeheadquarter and an oil depot but drop their non-guided bombs at aconsiderable distance from the intended areas. PAF dropped bombs and Indianjets chased them.

The pilot is missing in action.
India summoned Pakistan’s deputy high commissioner while PM Narendra Modiheld meeting with the three chiefs of the armed forces.
Across the border, Imran Khan addressed his nation and said that PAF actionwas only in retaliation to IAF raids from a day earlier. He renewed hisoffer for peace.
