CALIFORNIA – Facebook has introduced a new ‘facial recognition’ privacyfeature in Pakistan.
The face recognition feature allows users following liberties:
– Users can tag people easily and more quickly. – The new feature will notify users when their picture has been uploaded by anyone, anywhere. – Facebook’s new feature allows users to know if someone else is using your pictures and uploading them to Facebook. – Let users know when they might appear in photos or videos but haven’t been tagged.
Earlier, Facebook facial recognition feature was used by users to tag eachother. Facebook allowed you an option to add the names of your friends on agroup picture, but that had nothing to do with user’s privacy and security.
Now Facebook has innovated its own technology and has taken a step ahead.It gives you the option to identify your pictures and notify you if someoneelse uploads them. So now this feature is more about user’s privacy andsecurity.
The aim of Facebook facial recognition feature now is to allow you to findpictures you are in but you are not tagged in them. Keep you aware of anystrangers uploading your snaps without your permission. Add an option ofaudio to allow visually impaired users hear who is in your pictures onFacebook.
Facebook launch and enable this new feature for every user in Pakistanhowever, It can be turn off by going to account settings and click FaceRecognition on Facebook.
