Pakistani consulate general in MazarSharif Afghanistan shutdown following terror attempt

KABUL – The Pakistan Consulate General in Mazar-e-Sharif Afghanistan wasclosed on Sunday when an Afghan woman was caught trying to sneak a handgrenade into the Consulate, in her personal bag.

According to Foreign Office, the woman was arrested by the police and isunder investigation to find perpetrators of the failed attack.

The Embassy of Pakistan in Kabul has urged the Afghan government to providefoolproof security to its Consulate General in Mazar-e-Sharif and to sharethe findings of its investigation at the earliest.

Pakistan Consulate in Mazar-e-Sharif will remain closed for visa servicestill the provision of foolproof security by the authorities to prevent anyuntoward incident.
