Skipper Sarfraz Ahmed held important presser, reveals major shakeup in batting lineup

KARACHI - Pakistan’s men-team skipper Sarfraz Ahmed on Thursday held an important press conference and revealed major shake up in the batting lineup. He stated that he was not taking Sri Lanka series lightly. Addressing a presser here in Karachi ahead of 1st ODI, Sarfraz Ahmed stated that it was an honour for him to captain Pakistan’s team.

“I will try my best to prove Mibahul Haq’s decision right”, Sarfraz was quoted as saying.

Replying to another question about his position in batting order, Sarfraz replied that he would bat on fifth spot in the series. He added that Rizwan Ahmed has been selected to play role of middle-order batsman while Abid Ali will also remain key player in series.

To a question about duration of captaincy, Sarfraz stated that it won’t make any difference. “It will be my first series as skipper in the home venues”, added Sarfraz.

Pakistan and Sri Lank will play three-match ODI series in Karachi. Then, a three-match T20 series will be held at Lahore’s Qaddafi Stadium.
