Pakistan closed Afghan border crossings temporarily: FO

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan has decided to close its crossing point on Pak-Afghan border, Foreign Office states.

According to the spokesperson Foreign Office, Dr. Mohammad Faisal, in view of the upcoming presidential election and in support of domestic transition in Afghanistan, Pakistan has decided to close all passage ways/cargo terminals on 27-28 September 2019.

The terminals will only be open in case of any emergency situation.

Moreover, all pedestrians and trading vehicles will have to go through strict security check from 26-29 September 2019.

It is noteworthy that presidential elections in Afghanistan are scheduled on Septemrb 28, 2019.
