LAHORE: (APP) A Lahore High Court (LHC) division bench on Monday disposed of an Intra-Court appeal filed by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) challenging the single bench orders to issue fresh schedule for election on the reserved seats of the local governments.

A division of Justice Ayesha A Malik and Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza heard the ICA.
Earlier, the counsel arguing before the bench submitted that the single bench ordered the Commission to issue fresh schedule for holding elections on reserved seats of local governments.
He pointed out that the Commission had made all arrangements for the purpose and if the new schedule was issued, it would cause further delay.

However, PML-Q counsel Mubeen-ud-Din Qazi contended that the single bench passed orders in accordance with law and the apex court verdict on the matter.
He submitted that the Commission was bound to hold elections as per law, on Aug 26, 2015.
But, the court remarked that the Commission did not have any locus standie in the matter and it should comply with the court orders on the issue.

ECP's counsel stated that the Commission had approached the court for further interpretation of the matter.
The bench making the statement part of the record disposed of the matter. The court remarked that the detailed verdict would clarify the interpretation issue.
