LAHORE – NAB spokesperson has clarified that the degree of DG NAB Lahore Major (R) Saleem Shahzad was issued by Al-Khair University (AJK) in year 2002 and was recognized by Higher Education Commission in year 2015.
The Supreme Court (SCP) sought an explanation from NAB chairman on the appointment of DG NAB Lahore, who is accused of having a fake degree while also issuing a notice to Lahore NAB DG himself.
The matter of DG Major (retd. ) Salim Shehzad s appointment on the basis of a fake degree came to light during hearing of a suo moto case related to illegal appointments in the anti-graft body.
It was noted in the petition that the text on Salim Shehzad’s degree were in Calibri font as the degree dates back to year 2002 while Calibri font was introduced in year 2007.
The NAB spokesperson said that NAB DG Salim Shehzad prepared Nawaz Sharif’s London flats’ reference and hinted that some elements are trying to demean the image of NAB officials as backlash but NAB officers cannot be pressured with cheap tactics.
