Mufti Shahabuddin Popalzai has announced the sighting of Ramzan moon in Pakistan and the holy month of Ramazan will begin in parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Saturday, May 27.
The statement came shortly after the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee announced that the Ramazan moon was not sighted anywhere in the country.
The speaker of Masjid Qasim Ali Khan made the announcement after he said that 13 testimonies of sightings were received.
Popalzai said that 13 witnesses came to the mosque, including a woman.
Today, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee meeting led by Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman announced that the Ramazan moon was not sighted anywhere in the country, therefore, Sunday would be the first day of the fasting month.
