ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar has stressed the need for a change in the law for provision of speedy justice.
Addressing a meeting of the Law and Justice Commission on Thursday, he said that basic reforms are vital to run the judicial system smoothly.
“Unluckily, non-serious petitions are filed in courts. The apex court judges are doing hard work. The main reason of a delay in cases is to delay the cases deliberately. A fine is imposed on those causing a delay in the cases,” he maintained. “The load of cases can be reduced through mediation.”
The CJP said that the bar will have to cooperate with the bench.
He said that he Law and Justice Commission had not played a laudable role in renewal of laws. “The use of modern technology is vital for the judicial training,” he maintained.
CJP Saqib Nisar said that he had talked to the Senate chairman for reforming the laws. “The vacant posts of judges should be filled as early as possible,” he said.
