Pakistan Red Crescent (PRC) reorganisation stressed

ISLAMABAD: (APP) President Mamnoon Hussain Thursday stressed for bringing all organizations of Pakistan Red Crescent (PRC) under one platform to further augment its performance.

While appreciating the humanitarian activities of Pakistan Red Crescent during natural disasters, the President said a comprehensive strategy should be devised to prepare trained manpower for effectively dealing with natural disasters and accidents.

The President was talking to PRC Chairman Dr Saeed Elahi and other high officials here at the Awan-e-Sadr.

The President said in that regard the PRC should first seek cooperation from educational institutions and prepare a solid strategy for setting up of a permanent university.

He underscored the need for devising a collective code to bring improvement in the provincial branches of PRC. In that way its performance could be further improved, he added.

He stressed for establishing contacts between institutions rendering services in different walks of life and the PRC so that humanitarian activities could be improved.

The PRC Chairman briefed the President about various activities and services of his organization.

Praising the services of PRC, the President called for further enhancing its scope. The PRC in coordination with national research institutions, should take effective measures for providing relief to the people of backward areas, he added.
