Indian troops crackdown against youth in occupied Kashmir, over a dozen arrested

ISLAMABAD: Indian police arrested over a dozen youth including a student inPulwama and Poonch districts.

According to Kashmir Media Service (KMS) ,the police arrested over a dozenyouth from Gangoo, Pirchu, Malikpora, Dalipora, Dangarpora and other placesduring nocturnal raids in Pulwama district.

These youth as per the police were arrested for taking part in anti-Indiaand pro-freedom demonstrations.

The family members of the youth said that they were innocent. “Their onlyfault is that they participated in a peaceful procession organized tocondemn civilian killings in the district,” said a relative of one of thearrested youth.

On the other hand, Indian troops arrested a 17-year-old student fromMendhar area of Poonch district. The troops also arrested his father, ateacher by profession.

Meanwhile, a Kashmiri student from north Kashmir’s Bandipora district hasgone missing from his college in Noida city of Uttar Pradesh state inIndia, his family said.

The student, Syed Basit Hassan, went missing on December 13 from a Noidacollege where he was pursuing BBA for the past two and a half years.
