ISLAMABAD: Based on credible intelligence, the Pakistan Army, incollaboration with the Special Services Group (SSG), launched a preciseoperation in Kot Sultan, Dera Ismail Khan district. The raid targetedmembers of the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan’s (TTP) Sher Ali Group, resultingin the elimination of 16 terrorists. Security forces employed advancedtactics to neutralize the threat, ensuring minimal civilian risk in thevolatile region known for militant activities.
During the intense firefight, two militants sustained injuries andsubsequently surrendered to the authorities. These individuals are nowcooperating with interrogators, offering critical insights into the TTP’soperations, hideouts, and potential future plans. This intelligence isexpected to aid in disrupting further terrorist networks and enhancingcounter-terrorism efforts across the province.
A comprehensive clearance operation is currently underway in thesurrounding areas to secure the site and prevent any remnants fromregrouping.
