ISLAMABAD – Federal government takes important decision over issue of COASGeneral Qamar Bajwa tenure extension.
The federal government has approved the summary granting extension in thetenure of Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa. The cabinetgranted the approval unanimously during a meeting.

The summary will be sent to President Dr Arif Alvi for approval.

The cabinet also approved amendment to the Act pertaining to extension. Themeeting also discussed the verdict of the Supreme Court.
Talking to the media after the cabinet meeting, Federal Education MinisterShafqat Mahmood said that under Article 243, Prime Minister Imran Khan hasthe power to advise the President to extend the service tenure of the ArmyChief and the same procedure was followed in the matter.
