KABUL – Afghan Military claims killing 40 Taliban militants in combatoperations across the country.
In Afghanistan, forty militants have been killed in military operationswith security forces in different provinces.
In a statement in Kabul, Afghan Defense Ministry said that latest wave ofairstrikes and military operations on the group were conducted in thirtyfour provinces.
It said in southern provinces, six Taliban militants were killed in Marjadistrict of Helmand province.
A total of 11 Taliban hideouts were destroyed and 11 landmines andimprovised explosive devices were defused in neighboring Nahri Sarrajdistrict of Helmand.
Two militants were killed in Uruzgan province.
In eastern provinces, nine militants were killed in Alishing and Alinagardistricts of Laghman province and five killed in Ghazni province.
In Logar province, one militant was killed in Charkh district.
In western region, eight militants were killed and six others wounded inFarah province, while two militants were killed and seven others wounded inneighboring Badghis province.
Seven militants were killed and four others wounded during a raid innorthern Kunduz province, while one militant was killed in neighboringJawzjan province.
