DUBAI – Emirates made a clean sweep this week with award wins acrossmultiple countries – from Russia and Belgium to the UAE – a testament tothe airline’s consistent delivery of industry-leading travel experiencesfor its diverse customer base, and its commitment to investing ininnovative products that will ensure its customers fly better.
Emirates was named ‘Best Airline in the World’ and ‘Best Airline in theMiddle East’ at the prestigious 2018 ULTRAs. In a vote taken by over500,000 readers of The Telegraph’s luxury travel magazines Ultratravel UKand Ultratravel Middle East, the awards recognise the world’s bestproviders of luxury travel experiences. Sir Tim Clark, President EmiratesAirline, received the awards at a ceremony held last night in Dubai at theiconic Burj Al Arab Jumeirah hotel. The ceremony was attended by keymembers in the global travel industry.
In Russia, Emirates was recognised for its operational excellence andoutstanding customer service last night, when it scooped two prestigiousawards as ‘Best International Airline’ at the eighth National GeographicTraveller Awards 2018, and ‘Best Middle Eastern Airline’ at the BusinessTraveller Russia and CIS Awards 2018. The National Geographic TravellerAwards ceremony was attended by industry leading figures as well as mediarepresentatives from across Europe.
Earlier this week in Belgium, Emirates was named the ‘Best Long HaulAirline 2018’ at the Travel Magazine Awards 2018. The ceremony was attendedby 700 industry leading figures, travel professionals and mediarepresentatives. This is the 21st Travel Magazine travel Awards whereglobal brands are recognised as best hospitality providers in Belgium.
Over the last 12 months, Emirates has continued to deliver on its “flybetter” promise to customers, elevating the customer experience throughsignificant enhancements to its Boeing 777 and A380 aircraft. The airlineinvested US$ 150 million to introduce a new Business Class cabin andconfiguration on its fleet of Boeing 777-200LR aircraft. On the A380,Emirates’ newly enhanced Onboard Lounge continues to wow customers with itsmodern finishes and expanded seating options.
Emirates also continues to provide customers across all classes unrivalledentertainment options with more than 3,500 channels in over 40 languagesthrough its in-flight entertainment system, ice. On the ground, Emirates’seven Business Class lounges at Dubai International Airport Concourses A, Band C recently underwent a US$ 11 million makeover, reflecting theairline’s attention to the ground experience as an integral part of thecustomer journey.
