KARACHI: The depression over the east central Arabian Sea has intensifiedinto Cyclonic Storm ‘Kyarr’, a statement issued by the Met Office said onSaturday.
The cyclone is expected to bring a wet spell for southern parts of Sindhand the Makran coastal belt in Balochistan, according to reports.
The storm was centered about 1050 km Southeast of Karachi around 10:00pmlocal time on Friday, the met office said.
The storm is likely to intensify further into a Severe Tropical Cyclone andmove in west or northwest direction towards the Oman coast.
The weather department has denied any threat to Pakistan’s coastal areafrom this system. However, fishermen are advised to remain alert and avoidgoing into deep sea.
