The most recent Apple iPhone 15 series, featuring the new second-generationUltra Wideband chip, enables communication with other devices equipped withthe same chip at distances of up to 60 meters.
Apple, the American multinational technology company, has recentlylaunched the iPhone 15 series, incorporating the “Find My” feature, whichempowers users to locate nearby friends possessing the same device.
Teknófilo, a prominent Spanish blog specializing in news, rumors, andanalysis of smartphones, tablets, and other technological gadgets, conducted a hands-on demo to test this feature.
The demo showcases an iPhone 15 connected to another phone positionedapproximately 60 meters away, demonstrating the operational range at whichPrecision Finding functions effectively with AirTags.
It’s worth noting that this test was conducted in an open outdoor space, and the effective range may be limited indoors due to obstacles andpotential interference from walls.
The video serves to validate Apple’s assertion that the chip integratedinto the iPhone 15 series offers a range approximately three times that ofthe U1 chip.
While AirTag’s Precision Finding has a maximum range of 10-15 meters, theFind My feature on the latest iPhone indeed extends to approximately threetimes that distance.
