After Visa issuance, India creates another problem for Pakistani fans in World Cup matches

The final date for the departure of the national team to India has beenannounced. According to details, the issue of delay in the implementationof Pakistani team’s visas for the World Cup has finally been resolved.

According to media reports, India has issued visas to the Pakistan cricketteam, and as a result, the national team will depart for India via Dubai onWednesday. The Pakistani team will play their first warm-up match againstNew Zealand on September 29.

The Pakistan Cricket Board has confirmed the issuance of Indian visas tothe national team. According to PCB, the Indian High Commission has emailedto obtain passports, and the national team will depart for India on thenight of September 26-27. PCB had lodged a protest with the ICC for notissuing visas in a timely manner, after which contact was made with Indianauthorities by ICC officials.

According to the World Cup schedule, Pakistan’s first match will be againstthe Netherlands on October 6, while the traditional rival, India, will befaced on October 14 in Ahmedabad. The Pakistani team will also play warm-upmatches against New Zealand and Australia on September 29 and October 3,respectively.

On the other hand, India has created another hindrance for Pakistanijournalists and fans. Indian media has claimed that visas for Pakistanifans and journalists for ICC World Cup 2023 will be issued in limitednumbers. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has stated thatthey currently have no estimate of how many visas will be issued toPakistani fans and journalists.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in collaboration with the ICC, is workingon the number of visas for Pakistanis. The BCCI officials have stated thatvisas for Pakistani fans and journalists will be issued for the World Cupmatches, and multiple cities’ visas will be issued for Pakistani fans andjournalists attending the mega event.

According to Indian media reports, just like the T20 World Cup 2016, visasfor Pakistani fans will be issued in limited numbers for this One-Day WorldCup as well.
