US unveils new policy of bombing air strikes in Afghanistan

The US link has no plans to ask permissionlink the Talibanlink if it decides to bomb Afghanistan inthe future, the Pentagon said.

Since the withdrawal, the US link hasmaintained that it has “over the horizon capabilities” to carry outairstrikes link in Afghanistan. Buteven though the Taliban link is leadingthe new Afghan link, thePentagon has no plans to coordinate with them on potential airstrikeslink.

“We retain all necessary authorities to execute over-the-horizoncounterterrorism operations, and we remain confident in these capabilitiesmoving forward,” Pentagon spokesman John Kirbylink told Military Times.

“Without speaking to specific rules of engagement surrounding airstrikeslink, there is currently no requirementto clear airspace with the Taliban link,and we do not expect that any future over the horizon counterterrorismstrikes would hinge on such a clearance,” he said.

The US link has hinted at further interventionand airstrikes link in Afghanistanunder the guise of fighting ISIS-K. The Talibanlink have accepted air support from the USlink in the past against ISIS-K, but since thewithdrawal was completed, the Talibanlink havesaid they don’t need foreign help to fight the terrorist group.

The last known US link airstrike inAfghanistan took place on August 29th in Kabul, which killed 10 civilians,including seven children. The Pentagon initially claimed the striketargeted ISIS-K, but it was forced to admit that only civilians were killedin the bombing.

Meanwhile, the Taliban link have warnedthe US link not to interfere in the internalaffairs of Afghanistan.
