Indian External Affairs Minister responds over media reports of restoring Pakistan India cricketing ties

NEW YORK – Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar responds overmedia reports of restoring Pakistan India cricketing ties.

India’s external affairs minister S Jaishankar has dismissed any cricketingties with Pakistan saying New Delhi cant take a “tea break” and say “let usgo and play cricket” and Islamabad supports terror.

Speaking in New York at an event, Jaishankar said, “dominate narrative ofthe relationship” between New Delhi and Islamabad “is terrorism, suicidebombings, violence and then you say okay guys tea break, let us go and playcricket.”

He highlighted the recent terror attacks in India from Uri, Pathankot andPulwama and said, “its a very hard narrative to sell to people. It’s ademocracy, sentiments do matter and one message I don’t want to give, youdo terrorism by night, and its business as usual during the day.”

He said, it is very difficult in real life to separate issues, DNA hasreported.
