ISLAMABAD – After closing the Afghan border on the eve of Presidentialelections, Pakistan takes yet another step and puts security on high alertalong the Routes to check cross border movements.
Pakistan has decided to close all passage ways and cargo terminals, exceptfor emergency patients, along the Afghanistan border for two days witheffect from tomorrow.
Foreign Office, in a statement on Thursday, said that these measures havebeen taken in view of upcoming Presidential elections and in support ofdomestic transition in Afghanistan.

The statement said that it has been decided to enhance strict securitycheck of all pedestrian and trading vehicles till Sunday
