UNITED NATIONS – Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi Tuesday discussedwith his Swiss counterpart Ignazio Cassis steps to enhance bilateralcooperation between the two countries.
The two leaders met on the sidelines of the 73rd session of the UN GeneralAssembly taking place in New York.
An official statement said they discussed a wide range of regional andbilateral issues of mutual interest and expressed satisfaction on thecurrent state of relations.
The two foreign ministers agreed to celebrate the upcoming 70th anniversaryof the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries in abefitting manner.
Foreign Minister Qureshi appreciated the development work undertaken by theSwiss Agency for Development Cooperation (SDC) in the socio-economicsectors in Pakistan.
He emphasized the need to increase bilateral trade, encourage investment,promote education, augment business linkages and facilitate people topeople contacts.
The two foreign ministers agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation in allareas, including political, trade and economic, defence and security,cultural and educational relations, the statement added.
