General (R) Pervaiz Musharraf gets a good offer package from SC

ISLAMABAD – Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Mian Saqib Nisar on Tuesdayasked counsel for former president Gen (retd) Pervez Musharraf why he wasnot returning to Pakistan.

Justice Nisar said if he returned to Pakistan Musharraf would getappropriate security. He also offered to let the former president live athis Chak Shahzad Farm House and get medical treatment of his choice.

The chief justice asked why the former president was not returning toPakistan. The chief justice’s remarks came as he headed a three-memberbench hearing the case related to the National Reconciliation Ordinancepassed by Musharraf in 2007.

During the proceedings, Chief Justice Nisar remarked that Musharraf hadleft the country making the excuse of back pain and was seen dancing invideos abroad.

In response to the chief justice’s question, the former president’scounsel, Akhtar Shah, said, “Musharraf can return if restrictions are notimposed on his travel.” To this, the chief justice remarked, “His name hasnot been removed from the Exit Control List.”

Justice Nisar also assured that Musharraf’s security will be ensured. “Evenif he asks for the security given to a brigade, we will provide it,” hesaid. “Whichever security he asks for will be provided to him and he canget his treatment done from a doctor of his choice,” Justice Nisar added.
