Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi holds important meetings with World leaders at UN

NEW YORK – Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has held importantmeetings with leaders of other countries on the sidelines of United NationGeneral Assembly (UNGA).

According to details, the minister said that his Qatari counterpartMohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani has assured of giving 0.1 million jobs tothe Pakistanis to enhance bilateral ties.

Both also stressed the need to explore economic potential between the twocountries by increasing exports in sectors such as food items, constructionmaterial, pharmaceuticals, medical equipment, sports goods and fabrics.

He also told that Japanese foreign minister has lauded the sacrificesrendered by Pakistan for war against terrorism.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi also met with his Swiss counterpart Ignazio Cassis anddiscussed a wide-range of regional and bilateral issues of mutual interestin New York.

He appreciated the development work undertaken by the Swiss Agency forDevelopment Cooperation (SDC) in the socio-economic sectors in Pakistan.

Meanwhile, the FM also held talks with Chinese leader Wang Yi and pledgedto make strenuous efforts to take their strategic partnership to newheights.

He emphasized that China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would remain atop priority for the government of Pakistan.
