RAWALPINDI – Pakistan army spokesman Maj-Gen Asif Ghafoor has rejected theforeign media report of court martial of any military officer over NorthWaziristan violence.
Voice of America Deewa had reported that Army Captain would be courtmartial over North Waziristan violence.
He rather said that an inquiry has been ordered to ascertain facts aboutthe recent incidents of violence in North Waziristan.
Responding to a foreign media report on Twitter, DG ISPR Asif Ghafoor saidthat no one was killed or injured by security forces in Waziristan.
He also rejected a claim that an assurance was given to participants of thesit-in about court martial law of any officer.
“While an inquiry has been ordered to ascertain facts, no assurance givenfor any court martial. No one was killed/injured by Forces. @voadeewa keepsup its tradition of false reporting. People of Waziristan are peace lovingand value the attained peace,” he tweeted.
