Supreme Court annuls PA Deputy Speaker ruling, Pervaiz Elahi declared as CM Punjab

The Supreme Court of Pakistan Tuesday annulled the ruling of PunjabAssembly’s deputy speaker Dost Muhammad Mazari’s ruling during the run-offelection link of the Punjab Chief Ministerlink.

On July 22, Mazari link rejected the votesof PML-Q members in favour of Ch Pervaiz Elahi during the provincial chiefminister link electionlink citing a letter from PML-Q’s head ChShujaat Hussain under Article 63-A of the constitution.

The apex court in its 11-page short order accepted the plea of ParvaizElahi and pronounced him as Punjab chief ministerlink.
