TEHRAN – Iran says it will strongly defend itself against any military oreconomic aggression.
Addressing a news conference in Baghdad with his Iraqi counterpart Mohammedal-Hakim, Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif also called on Europeanstates to do more to preserve a nuclear agreement his country signed withthem.
He said Iran wants to build balanced relations with its Gulf Arab neighborsand that it has proposed signing a non-aggression pact with them.

On the occasion, Iraqi Foreign Minister Mohammed al-Hakim said Iraq standswith Iran and is willing to act as an intermediary between its neighbor andthe United States.
