Bajaur: Mufti Bashir Muhammad Jan, a leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI),was shot dead in Tani area of Tani Mamund Tehsil of Bajaur on Tuesday,witnesses and police said.
Police said two unknown motorcyclists opened fire on Mufti Bashir nearBadan Chowk. He was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.The deceased received two bullets to his skull.
Bashir was a runner-up candidate in the National Assembly elections. Furtherinvestigation into the incident is ongoing.
