ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has expressed a serious concern over the recentinhuman atrocities and innumerable arrests by Israel in OccupiedPalestinian territories.

In a statement on Monday, Foreign Office Spokesperson Hafeez Chaudhri saidthat Pakistan views the recent alarming developments in the OccupiedPalestinian Territories with a serious concern.

“These include harassment of people coming for prayers, arrests of innocentPalestinians and other arbitrary restrictions in violation of fundamentalhuman rights. These illegal measures have seen an upsurge since the onsetof the holy month of Ramadan,” he said.

The spokesperson said that Pakistan condemns these violent acts carried outby the Israeli Occupation forces and urges the international community forprompt action to protect Palestinians.

“Pakistan steadfastly supports the Palestinian people’s inalienable rightto self-determination. For just and lasting peace, it is imperative to havea two-state solution in accordance with the relevant United Nations and OICresolutions, with the pre-1967 borders, and Al-Quds Al-Sharif as thecapital of a viable, independent and contiguous Palestinian State,” heconcluded.
