ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Imran Khan has emphatically stated thatPakistani nation and government fully support multi billion dollars ChinaPakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.
He was speaking at a luncheon hosted by China-Pakistan FriendshipAssociation and International Cultural Communication Center in Beijingtoday.
The Prime Minister noted that Pakistan and China cooperation hasdiversified under the umbrella of the CPEC. He said initially the corridorproject focused on road infrastructure and energy projects but now we aretaking it towards cooperation in the fields of agriculture and industries.
Alluding to the achievements made by China in poverty alleviation and thescience and technology, he said Pakistan also seek Chinese cooperation inthese two areas to move forward.
Imran Khan said Pakistan seeks Chinese investment not only in the specialeconomic zones to be set up under the CPEC but also the reallocation oftheir certain industries.
The Prime Minister said the CPEC being a part of the Belt and RoadInitiative has proved to be a blessing for Pakistan as it gave the countryan opportunity to catch up with other nations. He said this mega projecthas helped not only attract investment from China but also other countries.

Imran Khan said that relationship between Pakistan and China has gotstronger with each passing year. He said China always supported Pakistan indifficult times and there is recognition of this very fact in Pakistanination.
Prime Minister Imran Khan said Pakistan is now also working towardsestablishing peace and stability in the region in order to achieve the goalof economic prosperity. He said Pakistan is supporting peaceful settlementof the Afghan conflict through dialogue amongst all the stakeholders. Hesaid Pakistan has decent relationship with Iran and we are working tofurther strengthen it.
About relations with India, he hoped India will come to the table ofnegotiations after the general elections.
