A source in the Department of State has told BBC Pashto that the US-TalibanDoha talks led by the US special representative for Afghanistan Thomas Westhave been canceled.
As per the sources, US special representative for Afghan women Rina Amiriwas also supposed to accompany Thomas West.
The US and Taliban were due to meet in the Qatari capital Doha on Saturdayand Sunday and discuss economic issues along with other relevant matters.
The move comes after the interim government of the Islamic Emirate ofAfghanistan decided not to open schools doors for teenage girls.
Meanwhile, Reuters has cited its sources in State Department saying theplane that was supposed to take the Taliban delegation led by the interimForeign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi from Kabul to Doha has not landed in theAfghan capital yet.
The “Doha Form” that was supposed to take place in the Qatari capital wasdue to pat attended by representatives from the United Nations and theWorld Bank.
