The Saudi-led coalition in Yemen said on Friday that an Aramco oil facilityin Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah was attacked by Houthis.
A coalition statement cited by the Saudi state news agency SPA said thatSaudi Aramco’s Bulk Plant in Jeddah was targeted with an “act ofaggression” by Iran-backed Houthi militia.
The statement added that following the “hostile” attack, a fire erupted intanks in the oil facility, however, it was controlled, and no casualtieswere reported.
Yemen has been engulfed by violence and instability since 2014, whenIran-aligned Houthis captured much of the country, including the capitalSanaa.
According to the UN, the conflict has created one of the world’s worstman-made humanitarian crises.
