LAHORE: Shahbaz Sharif name has been removed from the ECL by the orders ofthe Lahore High Court, allowed to leave country.
The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday ordered the removal of PakistanMuslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif’s name from the ExitControl List (ECL).
Earlier this month, Shehbaz had approached the LHC challenging the decisionof the federal government to place his name on the no-fly list.
The writ petition, filed through Advocate Azam Nazir Tarar, contended thatthe ban on Shehbaz’s international travel was in violation of hisfundamental rights guaranteed under the Constitution.
The former Punjab chief minister was arrested by the NationalAccountability Bureau (NAB) in October last year for alleged misuse ofauthority and involvement in the Ashiana Housing Scheme case.
