LAHORE – The officers from different districts were suspended on therecommendations of the regional police officers (RPOs).
The IGP had adopted a mechanism of internal accountability to cleanse thepolice department from officers with tainted record. The RPOs and heads ofthe district police were given directions to follow the policy in thisregard.
According to a police handout issued on Monday, the IGP placed undersuspension 36 DSPs involved in negligence, misconduct, abuse of power andcorruption.
About 12 DSPs were from Lahore and four from Faisalabad.

The IGP said there would be zero tolerance for those causing damage to thepolice department. He added that every official would be made accountableirrespective of his rank and without any laxity, the official statementread.
“The uniform requires us to provide justice to the people,” Mr Saleemi saidadding that the accountability system would be made more transparent andeveryone will be provided with an opportunity to justify himself.
