ISLAMABAD – Minister of Defence of Iraq Jummah Enaad Saadoon Khatab AlJibori called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa atthe General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi on Thursday.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate,“During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, regional security issuesand measures to further enhance bilateral defence collaboration werediscussed.”
Speaking on the occasion, the COAS said that Pakistan values its brotherlyrelationship with Iraq and also acknowledged the sacrifices rendered byIraqi nation in fighting terrorism. He also offered all possible assistanceand cooperation in development and defence-related fields.

According to Pakistan Army’s media wing, both the sides reaffirmed theirdetermination to work together for enhancing security and stability in theregion. The visiting dignitary also appreciated Pakistan’s continuousefforts for peace and stability in the region.
